It is our policy that our employees fulfill our corporate social responsibility commitments, and it is our expectation that our business associates – customers, suppliers, contractors, and consultants – adhere to the spirit of these principles as well. Emerald also has a policy for Code of Business Conduct for Suppliers.
In addition, Emerald is a member of Sedex, which provides a collaborative online platform for companies to share data about responsible sourcing and drive continuous improvement. Emerald facilities have been audited by Sedex using one of the most widely used social audit procedures in the world, the Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit (SMETA). This audit provides a globally-recognized method to assess responsible supply chain activities, including labor rights, health and safety, the environment, and business ethics. The audit results are available for sharing with other Sedex member companies through the Sedex online platform.
