Kalama® 3-Phenyl Propanol (3PP) FCC is an FDA GRAS aroma chemical (21 CFR §172.515) that adds balsamic, spicy, oriental character to soap, perfumes, home care products, and certain pharmaceutical products. In food and beverage applications, it provides a spicy, cinnamon-like, balsamic, fruity flavor reminiscent of wine with honey-like floral nuances at 20 ppm. Common food applications include baked goods, confectioneries such as chewing gum and candies, and frozen dairy products and fruit ice products. 3PP is also known as 3-phenylpropan-1-ol, 3-phenyl-1-propanol, 3-phenyl propyl alcohol, and phenylpropyl alcohol.
