Kalama® C-10 Aldehyde, also known as decanal, capraldehyde, and capric aldehyde, is an important component in perfumery, softer than C-8 Aldehyde and used to give both floral and citrus effects. Its pronounced fatty odor is reminiscent of orange peel and develops a floral and fresh citrus character on dilution. It is especially used in blossom fragrances, where it creates citrus nuances. It is also a component of many essential oils, such as neroli oil and various citrus peel oils. C-10 Aldehyde is available in an FCC grade, which is FDA GRAS under 21 CFR §182.60.
