Kalama® C-10 Aldehyde is an important perfumery ingredient, used for floral and citrus fragrance effects. Softer than C-8 Aldehyde, C-10 Aldehyde’s pronounced fatty character is reminiscent of orange peel and develops a fresh character on dilution.
It is especially used in blossom fragrances, where it creates citrus nuances, in addition to serving as a component of many essential oils, such as neroli oil, and various citrus peel oils. Also known as decanal, capraldehyde, and capric aldehyde, C-10 Aldehyde is an FDA GRAS ingredient ( 21 CFR §182.60).
