
Kalama® C-6 Aldehyde FCC has an earthy, vegetative flavor that can be reminiscent of apple, citrus, and orange at 2.5 ppm. It is used in food applications, such as strawberry aromas and lemon oils, as well as in candy and gums to produce fruity flavors. C-6 Aldehyde is an FDA GRAS ingredient (21 CFR §172.515).
Kalama C-6 Aldehyde FCC is also known as hexanal, hexyl aldehyde, or caproaldehyde. It is used as the raw material (along with benzaldehyde) for butyl cinnamic aldehyde.
