C-6 Aldehyde FCC

Kalama® C-6 Aldehyde, also known as hexanal, hexyl aldehyde, or caproaldehyde, has fruity, slightly grassy, fatty-green notes, reminiscent of unripe fruit at low concentrations. C-6 Aldehyde is FDA GRAS under 21 CFR §172.515 and is used in food applications such as apple and strawberry aromas and orange and lemon oils, as well as in candy and gums to produce fruit flavors. At 2.5 ppm, it provides a green, woody, grassy, vegetative flavor, which is also reminiscent of apple, citrus, and orange. C-6 Aldehyde is used as the raw material (along with benzaldehyde) for butyl cinnamic aldehyde.
