It is widely used as a flavor ingredient where a cinnamon character is desired. Kalama® Cinnamic Aldehyde adds spicy notes to personal care, such as soaps and toothpastes, perfumes, and household care products. It is also used in flavoring compounds at concentrations ranging from 0.01 to 0.8%. Throughout Europe and the United States, Kalama Cinnamic Aldehyde is especially popular in bakery goods, chewing gum, candy, and mouthwash. Cinnamic Aldehyde is an FDA GRAS synthetic flavoring substance (21 CFR § 182.60).
