Cure-Rite® OBTS Rubber Accelerator

Cure-Rite® OBTS is an effective and proven sulfenamide (sulfur donating) accelerator. Manufacturers benefit from longer, delayed-action rubber vulcanization. Rubber applications include natural rubber (NR), blends of NR and butadiene rubber (NR-BR), and blends of NR and styrene-butadiene rubber (NR-SBR), particularly in combination with fine-grade carbon blacks.

Cure-Rite OBTS is typically used in the range of 0.5-4.0 phr. Compared to CBS, Cure-Rite OBTS offers better scorch protection, cure rate, and state of cure. The long scorch delay allows Cure-Rite OBTS to produce high-value rubber with high modulus and excellent dynamic elasticity. Cure-Rite OBTS is well-known for the production of thick cross-section tread vulcanizates and complex precision molded, injected, or extruded goods.

Cure-Rite OBTS can be used in combination with Cure-Rite 18 to vary crosslink length and vulcanizate properties.
