K-FLEX® 850S is a dibenzoate plasticizer optimized for performance, compatibility, and economy in waterborne latex applications. It is a very effective, low-VOC choice for waterborne adhesives, as well as hot melt adhesives and putty. With FDA approvals for direct food contact, K-FLEX 850S is a viable option for food packaging adhesives.
In both VAE an PVAc emulsions, K-FLEX 850S provides excellent performance properties, such as wet tack, extended open times, chalk point/Tg suppression, reduced set times, and strong viscosity response of the base emulsion to the plasticizer (demonstrating compatibility and allowing flexibility). K-FLEX 850S can also be used in direct-to-metal and corrosion resistant coatings, where it demonstrates notable hardness development and salt fog resistance. K-FLEX 850S is not recommended for PVC applications.
