Kalama® Benzyl Alcohol Technical grade brings performance and value to a wide range of applications, functioning primarily as a building block, general solvent, or diluent. It serves as an intermediate in the synthesis of polypeptides, as well as a raw material in the manufacture of various esters (such as benzyl formate, acetate, propionate, and butyrate), which are extensively used in the flavor and fragrance industries.
Kalama Benzyl Alcohol Technical is widely used as a non-reactive diluent in epoxy resin coatings, where it reduces viscosity and raises product flexibility. It is also used in paint strippers as an environmentally friendly substitute for methylene chloride. In inks and lacquers, Kalama® Benzyl Alcohol Technical is valued as a general solvent due to its low volatility and low toxicity.
Emerald also offers Kalama Benzyl Alcohol NF/FCC and Kalama Benzyl Alcohol NF/Parenteral.
