Kalama® Osyrol® is recommended for fragrances in which a high quality sandalwood character is required. Imparting a flowery, woody note very reminiscent of natural sandalwood oil, Osyrol blends well with floral compounds such as rose and muguet (lily) and is most effective with chypre and woody notes.
Osyrol has excellent fixative properties and contributes to the overall blending and perfecting of the composition. It has great potential in luxury fragrances, including those for cosmetics and toiletries, and is also of value in perfumes for soaps and detergents.
Osyrol has been evaluated in a variety of tests for compatibility, stability of odor and, in the case of aerosols, also for freedom from corrosive effects and clogging of valves. These tests have shown that at the concentrations in which it is normally used, Osyrol is effective for: concentrates, fine fragrances, perfumed and aerosol sprays, antiperspirants and deodorants (lotions and aerosols), cosmetic creams and emulsified lotions, talcum powders, soaps, shampoos, bubble baths, detergents and fabric softeners.
